“I thought everyone must know that a short jacket is always worn with a silk hat at a private view in the morning.” — King Edward VII

In the journey of this creation, the ambition was to explore all segments of hand-made tailoring. The excitement took form in a multi-discipline of hand-crafted artistic expressions.

Hence, the project flourished to be a freeing artistic expression throughout the process.

Hand-Crafted Tailored Coat

Canvasing &Pad Stitching

The process of achieving sharp and stable shaping in a tailored coat requires a deep understanding of its traditional roots.

This can be the most challenging part of achieving the desired fit, which needs extensive training and experience. However, for me it became possible to understand and execute the project with detailed research on forums/blogs, YouTube, social media platforms of European tailor shops, and borrowing old tailoring books.

This led to gathering multiple techniques and with combining them to create the garment in a shorter time frame.

The Hand-Crafted ART

As the project went on, I felt a sense of experimentation growing deeper. So It was time to level things up by incorporating other artistic disciplines that were inline with the hand-crafted mentality.

This gave rise to the hand-painted leather panel at the front and the hand-embroidered panel on the back of the coat.
